Euroleague

A thrilling night of EuroLeague action now means we have five teams qualified for the Play-Offs, which is a big jump from the one that we had on Tuesday morning.

Also, the team that had already qualified lost on Tuesday night, perhaps suggesting Barcelona’s focus wasn’t where it should have been.

Tuesday 30th March results in EuroLeague

  • Zenit St Petersburg 74 – 86 CSKA Moscow
  • Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade 72 – 93 AX Armani Exchange Milan
  • Panathinaikos OPAP Athens 82 – 97 TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz
  • Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv 99 – 94 FC Barcelona
  • Real Madrid 83 – 108 Anadolu Efes Istanbul
  • Zalgiris Kaunas 96 – 86 ALBA Berlin
  • FC Bayern Munich 68 – 77 Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul

The teams who booked their passage to the Play-Offs are CSKA Moscow, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, AX Armani Exchange Milan and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul.

All four of these sides grabbed a big win on the road, giving them plenty to celebrate. There are more games to play this midweek in the EuroLeague, so they can’t overdo it, but there will be some happy people across Europe today.

It was a bad night for FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Both of these sides lost at home to teams who qualified. This meant they had to view their celebrations while considering the damage done to their hopes.

The Germans are in sixth place, holding a 19-13 record, and they are still well placed to qualify. However, Madrid are in eighth place, and with an 18-14 record. Valencia, in ninth, hold a 17-14 and host Olympiacos on Wednesday night. Things could get uncomfortable for the side from the Spanish capital in the hunt for the Play-Offs.

The Wednesday 31st March EuroLeague games are:

  • Khimki Moscow Region vs. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne
  • Valencia Basket vs. Olympiacos Piraeus

The side at the bottom of the EuroLeague welcome another side far from the Play-Off push. There might not be a lot riding on the Moscow clash, but as always, there is pride to play for. However, for the Wednesday night action, it is the game in Spain that holds the most interest for European basketball fans.

Be sure to catch your breath, because Thursday is going to deliver another 4 EuroLeague games, and then there is five to enjoy on Friday! European basketball betting fans have a great deal to look forward to this Easter week!
