FIBA EuroBasket 2015 Betting TipsThe Wednesday action in Group A means that one team is already resigned to going home once the group ends and two teams are already assured of heading through to Lille in the knock-out round. This means that there is going to be plenty up for grabs on Thursday. Some teams are more likely and confident than others but this group has already thrown up a few shocks and surprises, which means that we could be in for a day of excitement and drama in Group A.

The results in Group A on 9th September were:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina 59 – Finland 88
  • Poland 73 – Israel 75
  • Russia 67 – France 74

With a strong defensive showing and good defending, Finland were in control from beginning to end in their game against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jamar Wilson offered up the game high of 16 points for Finland while Matti Nuutinen offered up 13 points for the winners while the losers were boosted by Elmedin Kikanovic, who also grabbed 13 points.

Israel booked their place in the knock-out round with a close win over Poland, even though the Israeli side were by far the better team. Once again, Omri Casspi shone for the Israeli wide, grabbing 14 points. For the Polish side, who still have their destiny in their own hands, Damian Kulig was in good form, providing 13 points and 6 rebounds.

The hosts made it 4-0 so far, even if they did have to bounce back from being 13 points behind. The French turned to their reserves in this one but even they had too much for the Russians, who now know that their tournament ends on Thursday. Rudy Gobert delivered 12 points and 10 rebounds for the French while Vitaly Fridzon offered up 20 points for the losing side.

The previews for Group A on 10th September are:

Finland v Poland

By the end of Wednesday, both of these teams had booked their place in the qualifying round, so it remains to be seen what sort of mood these teams will be in for this game. There are still points to play for and a higher ranking in the knock-out round, so there will be a lot to look out for, but the intensity and excitement of the game may not be as high as it could have been.

Poland were flat in their Thursday loss to Israel while Finland were in great form in their win on Thursday. On current form, it is Finland’s game to take but how players react to the nature of the situation will have a big impact on the outcome of the game and the group.

The bookmakers are finding it hard to split these teams so taking Finland at -1, at odds of 1.90, should be of benefit. When it comes to the Over/Under market, look to go UNDER 152.0 at odds of 1.90Bet Now!

Bosnia and Herzegovina v Russia

This is a game where both teams will be playing for pride, because both of these teams are already eliminated from the tournament. No one will want to finish bottom of the group and it is always better to end on a high but this game will likely have a slightly dispirited feel to it. It has been a terrible tournament for the Russians, for a variety of reasons, but Bosnia and Herzegovina can at least take a few positives out of the tournament.

You would maybe hope that the lack of pressure on both teams will allow them to relax and serve up a great game of basketball. You definitely hope that the fans who come along at an early hour before the France match at least have something to enjoy. This may seem like a match that doesn’t have too much riding on it, but it could be one of the best games of the day (and of course, it could turn out to be a stinker!)

Russia have been poor and there is every incentive for Bosnia and Herzegovina so choose Bosnia and Herzegovina at +6.5 at odds of 1.90. For the Over/Under market, go UNDER 156.5 at odds of 1.90Bet Now!

Israel v France

With both teams already qualified for the knock-out round, you may think that this won’t be much of a game but top spot in the group is up for grabs. This is well worth playing for and we should see two teams at their best. France rested a good few players in their Thursday win over Russia so they should be fresh and ready to give the Montpellier crowd a good send-off.

If there is one thing in the Israeli team’s favour, it is that even though France have been winning, they haven’t been putting teams away convincingly, so there could be a chance to sneak in and get involved.

Take France at -11.5 at odds of 1.90 for this game and with the Over/Under market, look to go OVER 146.5 at odds of 1.80Bet Now!
