FIBA EuroBasket 2015 Betting TipsThere is still plenty to play for in Group C on the final day but Wednesday brought some cheer to the host nation of the group, who know that they are heading to France at the weekend for some knock-out action. With the bottom three teams in the group all on 5 points, this could be the group for dramatic final day action.

The results in Group C on 9th September were:

  • Greece 83 – Slovenia 72
  • Macedonia 75 – Georgia 90
  • Netherlands 72 – Croatia 78

Greece were never behind in the entire game, which made it a fitting way to clinch a 4-0 record so far in Group C and book their place in the knock-out round. It will be no surprise to learn that Vassilis Spanoulis paced the Greek side in this game with a total of 19 points and 2 rebounds. For the Slovenians, who are still very much in contention for a knock-out spot, Jaka Blazic picked up27 points and 5 rebounds.

The Georgian win was a game changer in the group as they now hold the advantage at the bottom of the group. Zaha Pachulia was a big man for the Georgians, offering up 23 points and 14 rebounds. This was a massive performance for the player and team, with Georgia getting in front early on and powering onwards from there. Damjan Stojanovskiwas the leading player for Macedonia, grabbing 14 points and 2 rebounds.

The host nation may have been toiling in the second quarter but a spur before half-time turned the game around and guaranteed qualification for the hosts to the knock-out round. This means that Croatia can look forward to heading to Lille and their game on Thursday will provide a good chance for the home crowd to give them a strong send-off. Krunoslav Simon grabbed 18 points for the winners while the Netherlands were boosted by the 19 points scored by Roeland Schaftenaar.

The previews for Group C on 10th September are:

Slovenia v Macedonia

This is a game that Macedonia have to win to even stand a chance of making it through to the knock-out round and even then, they could be looking at other scores to see where they end up. For Slovenia, things are simpler because they sit a point ahead of the bottom three teams in the group. If Slovenia win the game, which they will think that they can, they will progress to the knock-out round.

Slovenia are strongly tipped for the game and you should look for them at -8.5, at odds of 1.90, in this game. With respect to the Over/Under market, you should go OVER 144.5 at odds of 1.90. Bet Now!

Georgia v Croatia

Georgia now know that they are the team with the inside track for the final qualification spot for Group C. Their win on Thursday ensured that they have the tie-break advantage over Netherlands and Macedonia. A win against the host nation, who are already qualified, will ensure that Georgia go through, but it may not be as simple as that.

You can’t imagine that Croatia will take this game, their last on home soil, too easily, so it may be that Georgia finds this game more challenging than they would hope for.

Given what is at stake in this game, taking Croatia at -4.5, at odds of 1.90, isn’t the worst bet you will make all week. With respect to the Over/Under market, you should look to go OVER 151.5 at odds of 1.90. Bet Now!

Greece v Netherlands

Greece know that they are heading to Lille, so it depends on what sort of focus they provide on this game. They may be keen to keep the momentum going, and they may want to grab a 5-0 record and the top spot of the group. Alternatively, they may decide that resting some players is of better long term benefit and even then, the key players may be in place but if their attitude isn’t at the right level, they could struggle.

This gives some hope to the Netherlands but they are definitely up against it. They have to win and they have to hope that other results go in their favour, which could be the thing that scuppers them. Of course, with this being the final game of the day, the mood and tone going into this match could be very different. If the Netherlands are still in contention at this point, expect them to come out all fired up but if results conspired against them, Greece could be in for a comfortable time.

A lot will depend on the earlier games but taking Netherlands at +11.5, with odds of 1.90, could be a decent bet for this game. For the Over/Under market, look to go OVER 148.5 at odds of 1.90 for this match. Bet Now!
