Euroleague - I Feel DevotionNo matter the sport, last minute winners are always going to grab attention and basketball fans were treated to a couple of last minute thrillers in round 2 of the 2014/15 Euroleague season. There is still a long way of the campaign to go, so you cannot say that the late points won will have a massive impact on the full story of the season but there is no doubt that in the story of the campaign, these are the moments that fans will return to the most.

Unicaja Malaga v Alba Berlin 87-84

The final shot of the game helped Malaga to go 2-0 for this season while the German side have now lost both of their opening games. The hero of the night was Kostas Vasileiadis who hit a three pointer at the buzzer. Ryan Toolson grabbed 13 points and 8 assists, assisted by Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Jayson Granger who both managed to grab 12 points, while 10 points was added to the scoreboard by Fran Vasquez.

Marko Banic was the top man for Alba, with 16 points, while Jamel McLean with 14 and Cliff Hammonds with 11 were key players for the side from Berlin.

Limoges CSP v Cedevita Zagreb 71-60

This game was the first time that Limoges CSP played at home in the Euroleague since 1998 and the fans turned out in force. They were rewarded for their support with a strong showing, led by Nobel Boungo-Colo. He was the player who ensured that Limoges had a double digit supremacy at half-time, and he as the top scorer for the home team with 17 points. J.P. Basita also grabbed 11 points while Luka Babic, with 14, and Fran Pilepic, with 10, were the top men for the team from Zagreb.

Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari v Anadolu Efes Istanbul 75-82

It was the first home Euroleague game for Dinamo but sadly for the home fans, it was their Turkish opponents that took the spoils. Sassari were in the game until late on but they were never heard after the opening minutes of the game. Nenad Krstic grabbed 15 points for Anadolu Efes but he was assisted by Matt Janniing and Stephane Lasme, who both grabbed 14 points. The home side were boosted by the 15 points of Rakim Sanders but poor two point shooting hampered the home team.

Zalgiris Kaunas v Nizhny Novogorod 97-63

A convincing home win for Kaunas sees both teams sitting on a 1-1 record and this game will be recorded as the most points that Zalgiris have scored in a regulation game. Paulius Jankunas grabbed 13 points while three players delivered 12 points for the team from Kaunas, James Anderson, Darius Songaila and Robertas Javtokas. The home side were helped by the 10 points delivered by Artras Gudaitis.

Unics Kazan v Real Madrid 75-76

Sergio Llull was the winner for Madrid with just 1.2 seconds left on the clock as the Spanish side grabbed a win on the road that pushed them to a 2-0 record in Group A of the 2014/15 Euroleague. James White put Unics in the lead 75-74 with 7.7 seconds on the clock but with a timeout, Llull stepped up to win the game. Llull grabbed 7 points while Gustavo Ayon and Rudy Fernandez both delivered 10 points for the Spanish side. Keith Langford delivered 23 points for Unics while James White served up 13. It was a cruel way to lose a game but Real Madrid showed once again that they can bounce back when they need to.
