Euroleague

Let’s not waste any time with this preview, not when there is a great range of Friday night games in the EuroLeague.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. Anadolu Efes Istanbul

Ali Muhammed has been a long time absentee for the hosts, and he is still expected to be absent for this local derby.

The hosts have a 15-10 record while the away side carries a 14-10 record. Therefore, there is a lot at stake in this game, both for local bragging rights, and for the push for the Play-offs.

These sides met earlier this campaign in Round 2, and it was Fenerbahce who grabbed an away win. The final score was Anadolu Efes Istanbul 71 – Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul 81. You won’t be surprised to learn Nando De Colo was on fire that evening, and his 20 points were a big factor in the final outcome of this game.

ALBA Berlin vs. Panathinaikos OPAP Athens

Louis Olinde, Jayson Granger and Niels Giffey will remain unavailable through injury for Round 26, while Christ Koumadje has been registered in time for the rest of the season. Nemanja Nedovic and Georgios Kalaitzakis will miss this week’s game for Panathinaikos but Mario Hezonja has been signed, registered, and is available for the Friday night game

The Greek side haven’t been to Berlin since February 2015, a game they won by 59-65. Going into this round of fixtures, the away side carry a 9-14 record while ALBA Berlin holds an 8-17 record. They are side by side in the table, but with a few games in hand, the Greeks will be slightly happier, although neither side will be delighted with their standing.

The hosts need to win this one to move away from Belgrade.

FC Barcelona vs. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne

Leo Westermann is a doubt for this clash due to a left ankle sprain, while a decision on whether Victor Claver should be included will be left to the last minute. Of course, the team news that Barcelona fans are interested in is the return of Pau Gasol. He is available for the rest of the season, and if he fits back into the team well, it could be a major catalyst for Catalan success.

Charles Kahudi and Derrick Walton Jr. are unavailable for the away side.

When these sides met earlier in the season, it was ASVEL who triumphed by a score of 80-68. David Lighty was the key man for the hosts, delivering 17 points on the night for a famous win.

ASVEL are 11-14 for the season so far while the league leaders are 18-7.

TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz vs. Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade

These teams clashed in Round 2, and it was Belgrade who came out on top by a score of 90-73. Jordan Lloyd delivered a thumping 30 points in the win.

The Spaniards are 12-13 going into this game while the Belgrade side are 7-18, sitting in second bottom spot.
