Bayern Munich is coming into this clash with Milan after a good win, taking them to 1-1 in the new Euroleague season. Their opponents however suffered another defeat, leaving them with a 0-2 record and second bottom spot in Group C. Milan are only kept off the bottom spot by virtue of PGE Turow Zgorzelec having an inferior goal difference. There is clearly room for improvement for Milan this campaign but whether it will come on the road in Germany is another matter altogether.

Dusko Savanovic was a big player for Munich last week and he will need to be on the top of his game as Bayern go looking for their second win in a row. He will be ably assisted by Nihad Djedovic who will be attacking from the wings while John Bryant will be more central in the attacks of the German team. If Savanovic can grab a three pointer, he will hit the century mark in his Euroleague career and you would tip him to reach this landmark against Milan. When he was playing for Anadolu Efes Istanbul last season, Savanovic hit his career high of 22 points in a game against EA7 Milan so he clearly likes to play against this opponent.
It is not as if the Milan team doesn’t have players that can make a difference. In Linas Kleiza, Milan has a player that can be as effective as Savanovic and players like Samardo Samuels and Shawn James know how to punish defences. There will be a need for Alessandro Gentile to continue his improvement but it may be that the strength in depth that Bayern Munich can call upon will be the difference between the two teams on Friday night. The fact that Gentile has managed to reach double figures in all of his previous 6 appearances in the Euroleague indicates that he is a player that is on fire and if Milan are going to achieve anything in Munich, it is likely that he will need to be on top of his game. If you are keen to have a player in the away team to look out for, Gentile is the name to put on your list.
The bookmakers believe the German team will come through their big Halloween game unscathed, with odds of 1.52 while Milan are offered at odds of 2.60. The Overs/Under market stands at 1.90 for 155.5 and it may be that the best value you will find all night is taking Bayern Munich on the handicap bet. I believe that Bayern at 1.90 with a -4 handicap is a decent bet that is well worth taking as they should prove themselves to be too strong for their Italian opponents over the course of the match. A home win would push Bayern up to at least joint second in the group, so there is a big incentive for the Germans to be at their best, making them a sensible bet for this round.
