27/09/2016 16:30 BST – Rilski Sportist v Tsmoki Minsk – Betting Tips

The European basketball season is underway again and there is a new wave ushering in excitement. The FIBA Champions League is upon us and this game in Bulgaria gives European basketball fans a chance to see what the fuss is all about. The first qualifying round may lack the big names but it is likely to throw up some exciting games with teams battling for a place in the new big tournament. The Belarussians will fancy themselves in this tie but they have to be wary of being caught out by their opponents who had a good season last year.

The hosts come into this game as Bulgarian Cup winners, which is only their second major title in their career. A Balkan Title back in 2009 was the only other major title lifted by Rilski, so this has been a summer of great celebration for their fans. They face a tough task if they are looking to continue this adventure into the European arena, but this game alone will provide their fans with plenty to get excited about. Head coach Rosen Barchovski will be looking for a strong showing in the home leg of this tie.

The Belarussians have experience

The Belarus side has a strong pedigree, claiming 8 Belarusian titles and 7 cups in their time, and they’ll think they have more than enough to do some damage in Bulgaria on Tuesday evening. Tsmoki clinched the double last season and took 12th place in the VTB United League. The experience of playing in that league, which was clinched by Euroleague winners CSKA Moscow, will give the Belarussians a strong grounding in what is required to go and deliver performances away from home.

The away team are tipped as the favourites for this game, and they’ll be looking to get a result that gives them a comfortable tie on Thursday night in the second leg. You should be looking to take Tsmoki Minsk at -4.5, which is available at odds of 1.83. If you have an interest in the Over/Under market, this is available and you should look to go UNDER 165.5, which is available at odds of 1.83. Bet Now!
