Euroleague Round Two - Maccabi Tel Aviv v CSKA Moscow Betting TipsWith round 2 of the Euroleague season about to get underway, there is no rest or time for the players to dwell on the first round of matches. Whether a team won or lost, they have to put the result behind them and move forward because the points on offer this week are crucial.

There are some excellent games lined up on round 2 of the 2014/15 Euroleague and these games are particularly appealing:

  • CSKA Moscow v Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv
  • FC Bayern Munich v Panathinaikos Athens
  • EA7 Emporio Armani v FC Barcelona

Euroleague – CSKA Moscow v Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv

This match will rekindle memories of Milan at the start of the summer, which means that there will be many great memories for the Maccabi team and fans but it may be that CSKA Moscow come into this match with a score to settle. This is because this is a rematch of the Euroleague Final Four Semi-Final and all of the bookmakers were predicting that Moscow would have more than enough about them to seal a place in the final.

As we all know, Maccabi Electra upset the odds and then did the same again in the final, clinching the title against a Madrid side who once again blew a brilliant chance to be a winner.

This season, CSKA have tremendous strength in depth, best seen by the fact that six of their team broke into double figures in their Round 1 victory. Sasha Kaun led the way with 16 points but players like Sonny Weems, Milos Teodosic, Aaron Jackson and Vitaly Fridzon all played their part. Jeremey Pargo and Devin Smith are the men that will need to be on fire for Maccabi if they are going to shock CSKA Moscow once again.

Both teams won their opening match of the season so something will have to give here. There should be a passion and desire in the CSKA Moscow to avenge their Semi-Final defeat of last season, and with home advantage, it is likely that CSKA will be celebrating this time around. The bookies seem to think so, Bet365 are offering odds of 1.25 on CSKA and the handicap stands at -7.5 for odds of 1.90. You may want to think about backing the home team to win by a few points if you are keen on obtaining value from your bet on this match.

Euroleague – FC Bayern Munich v Panathinaikos Athens

Bayern lost their opening game of the 2014/15 Eurloeague season in Barcelona so they will be keen to make amends in front of their own fans. The top man in the defeat in Catalonia was Nihad Djedovic, who delivered 19 points against his former team. He will need to perform to the same level without the added impetus of facing up to his former teammates, although John Bryant also scored 16 points for the team from Munich. Panthinaikos got off to a winning start at home and they had three key players ensuring they saw it through. Nikos Pappas and AJ Slaughter both grabbed 16 points while Vlantimir Giankovits chipped in with 13 points. With the Greek side hoping that they can clinch a 7th Euroleague Championship, Bayern know that they are in for a tough time.

In this one, the odds of 2.15 for Panathinaikos at Bet365 are too attractive to turn down, and I believe that there will be an away win on the cards in Germany.

Euroleague – EA7 Emporio Armani v FC Barcelona

After tasting defeat in Turkey on the opening day, Milan return home and they will be keen to get off the mark this season. They have a tough task though, facing up to Barcelona who suffered disappointment in Milan earlier this year, losing out to Real Madrid in the Semi-Final of the Final Four. Alessandro Gentile led the way for Milan in Turkey with 15 points, while Nicolo Melli and Samardo Samuels both grabbed 12 points in the loss. Barcelona had a string of players on fire in their opening round triumph over Bayern Munich with Justin Doellman grabbing 16 points. The team was boosted by 15 points from Ante Tomic and Brad Oleson while Juan Carlos Navarro also added 12 points. It looks as though Barca may have the firepower to blow Milan away if their big players step up in Italy.

Barcelona will likely be too strong for Milan and with odds of 1.52 on offer, backing the team on the road is likely to be a productive use of your time and money for this match.
