18/10/2016 20:30 BST – Spirou Charleroi v Besiktas – Betting Tips

Group E looks set to deliver a lot of exciting basketball moments this season in the FIBA Champions League. The hosts have a lot of energy and spirit but the experience of the away team may make all the difference when it comes to splitting these sides this midweek.

While the Belgian side will be looking to get off a flying start, they know they have a tough task. This is partly down to the quality of opposition but the hosts have been hit by a number of injuries recently. Add in the fact that this is a very youthful squad, with no player above the age of 30 years old, you have a squad that could be in trouble this season. However, this is also a team that could take off if things go their way and players like Adam kemp and Brandon Bowman can have a huge impact on this tournament. The Spiroudome fans will need to make a lot of noise to see their heroes home but this is far from a lost cause.

There is expectation on the Turkish side

This is a big season for Besiktas and the return of Ufuk Sarica in the role of coach has raised expectations. The arrival of Michael Thompson has also raised expectations when it comes to what the Turkish team can achieve this season. There is no shortage of good quality players on offer in this side as they also have Kyle Weems and Michael Roll on board. One experienced player who’ll likely deliver a lot this season is DJ Strawberry, a player that knows all about winning the domestic title in Turkey. Add in Vladimir Stimac who has a silver medal from the FIBA World Cup and the Besiktas side is one that knows what it takes to win big games.

The Turkish side are big favourites for this game and they should have more than enough about them to take the spoils in this opening Group E game.

However, given the backing of the home crowd and the expectations surrounding the opening FIBA Champions League game, look to take Spirou Charleroi at +11.5 which is on offer at odds of 1.90. You can also take the Over/Under market for this game and you should look to go OVER 156.5, which is provided at odds of 1.90. Bet Now!
