12/12/2014 19:45 – Olympiacos Piraeus v Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade

Euroleague Betting Tips - Olympiacos v Crvena ZvezdaThis is a clash between the top two teams in Group D and if the home side can win, or lose by fewer than 5 points, they will take top spot in the group. Zvezda also know that they can book second place in the group if other results go their way. It is expected to be an exciting game at the Peace & Friendship Stadium, which will hopefully prove that even though teams have already qualified for the Top 16, there is still plenty to play for in the individual games.

The two teams have already clashed this season in the Euroleague, with the Greek team grabbing a massive away win by a score of 62-57. It may have been a low scoring match, but it was a match with plenty of excitement and drama.

The Greeks could clinch top spot

Euroleague - OlympiacosThe group leaders hold a 7-1 record and they have scored an average of 76.3 points per game in the Euroleague this campaign. There is no getting away from the fact that Vassilis Spanoulis has been a key play for Olympiacos this campaign, grabbing an average of 18.6 points per game and 5.5 assists per game too. He has been ably assisted by Bryan Dunston, who has served up 10 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. Olympiacos also have a strong record in their domestic league, holding a 9-1 record and sitting in second place.

As you would expect, Spanoulis hogs plenty of the headlines and statistics for the Greeks. He needs one more steal to join the top 20 in the Euroleague, and if he gets one to move onto 179, he will tie with Scoonie Penn, a former Olympiacos player, in 20th position. Spanoulis is also on a run of great form with a minimum of 1 three pointer in his last six games and in his previous 19 games in the Euroleague, he has managed to bag 18 of these. It is easy to see why he is so crucial to the Greek side.

Red Star hoping for revenge in Greece

Crvena Zvezda currently hold a 5-3 record but they have a higher average points per game record than their rivals, scoring an average of 79.4 points per game in the Euroleague so far. Bobdan Marjanovic has been at the heart of the action and he has bagged an average of 17.4 points per game this campaign while also offering 10.3 rebounds per game. Marcus Williams has also been on form, providing 12.5 points per game and 7.1 assists per game. The team is also flying in the Adriatic League, sitting in first place with an 11-0 record.

Crvena will be hoping to avenge their only home defeat this season, against Olympiacos and one man one who give them hope is Boban Marjanovic. Marjanovic has reached double figures in 9 Euroleague games in a row and he has also grabbed five double doubles in this campaign.

It is easy to see why you can favour the home team in this game and given that they have odds of 1.90 with a handicap of -6, this is something that should be of interest for your Friday betting activities.
