It wasn’t quite do or die for the home team as we moved into Game 3 of the NBA Finals but anything less than a win for the Cleveland Cavaliers would have left them on the brink of a second painful defeat two years in a row. The team responded and while the Golden State Warriors remain the clear favourites to clinch the NBA Championship this summer, this result at least gives us all something to look forward to in the next week.
It’ll come as no surprise to learn that LeBron James was at the heart of the strong showing by the Cavs. In the build-up to the game there were calls for LeBron to don his cape and provide the impetus that would bring the Cavs back to life in the Finals. The Warriors have a poor track record in Game 3 when they have a 2-0 lead, the psychology usually working against them but this was still an impressive showing by the Cavs.
Golden State Warriors 90 – Cleveland Cavaliers 120
LeBron grabbed 32 points and Kyrie Irving picked up 30 points on a night when the hosts were not going to be denied. In return, Steph Curry could only provide 19 points for the away team, who have their lead cut to a 2-1 score line and the series continues on Friday night.
The next game will also take place in Cleveland giving the Cavs the chance to level the tie before it moves back to the home patch of the Warriors. The bookmakers think that the Cavs have a great chance of levelling the tie before the weekend but of course, they don’t expect the home team to demolish the Warriors in the manner that they did in Game 3.
You should look to take the Cleveland Cavaliers at -2, which is available at odds of 1.90. If you are looking at the Over/Under market, you should look to go UNDER 206.5, at odds of 1.90. The Warriors still look in good shape for the Championship but neutrals will be hoping for a Cavs win to up the excitement levels. Bet Now!
