Monday NBA Action Gets You Going

NBA Betting Tips 9 February 2015A new week begins in earnest in the NBA and there are plenty of games to look forward to on Monday the 9th of February. There were also plenty of games on Sunday the 8th of February, and we will look back on them first before looking at today’s NBA betting tips.

The Thunder demolished the Clippers at home, winning by a score of 131-108 while the Pacers won a very close affair in Charlotte, the Hornets losing by 102-103. The Grizzlies were strong at home to the Hawks, winning by 94-88 and another team who were strong at home were the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors welcomed the reigning champions, the San Antonio Spurs, to Canada and sent them on their way with an 87-82 result. The Spurs are still looking good to have another tilt at title glory this year but teams definitely believe that they can put them under significant pressure.

The Kings had enough about them to edge the Suns in an 85-83 affair in Sacramento and there were no concerns for the Cavaliers at home to the Lakers. The Cavs ran out 120-105 showing that they are a team with strength and consistency these days. There was a massive game in Orlando, the Bulls edging a tight one by a score of 97-98 leaving the Magic to rue some missed chances. The Pistons were downed at home by Minnesota, the Timberwolves winning 101-112 and the Rockets were also defeated at home. The Portland Trail Blazers had enough about them to grab a 98-109 win in Houston.

New York Knicks @ Miami Heat

The Knicks are still toiling away this campaign but at least they know they head into this game with a better record in their last 10 games compared to the Miami Heat. Both sides have tasted defeat in their last three games but the Knicks are 5-5 in their last 10 games while the Heat are 3-7.

New York Knicks LogoNew York are 10-41 for the campaign and they head to Miami with a 3-22, which is a seriously bad record on the road. The Heat are the hosts with a 21-29 record, with an 8-15 record, which isn’t the best home record either to be honest! This is a game that could give either team a boost if they were to do enough to win it with style. There may not be a lot about either side’s current level of form to suggest that they can turn on a big performance at will, but they will be facing weak opposition.

With respect to average points scored, the Knicks have a slight edge, 92.7 compared to 92.4 while the Heat have an advantage in average points allowed, 96.3 to 100.3.

Travis Wear and Cole Andrich are expected to be out for the Knicks while Pablo Prigioni, Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire are being monitored closely. The Heat are close to welcoming back Dwyane Wade, who has been a big miss, but he is expected to be absent for this one. Shawne Williams is a doubt while Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem and Hassan Whiteside are all being closely monitored.

This is a game that could genuinely go either way and the Knicks with a +5 handicap, at odds of 1.90, isn’t a bad bet for Monday. Bet Now!

Brooklyn Nets @ Milwaukee Bucks

Brooklyn Nets LogoThe Nets and the Bucks are two sides who have had an average (or poor to average) season so far, but there will still be hopes in both camps to push on. The Nets head to Milwaukee with a 21-29 record, and an 11-14 record away from home. The Bucks hold a 28-23 record, and this includes a 13-10 record in Milwaukee.

The Nets lost their last game, and hold a 4-6 record in their last 10 games while the Bucks hold a 7-3 record in their last 10 games, and won their last outing. With respect to average points scored, the Bucks edge it with 98.9 to 95.6 and the same team holds an advantage with average points allowed, 97.1 to 99.5.

Kevin Garnett is a doubt for the Nets while the Bucks have a big injury list with Ersan Ilysaova, Larry Sanders, Zaza Pachulia and Kenyon Martin all being major doubts.

Taking the Nets with a +4.5 handicap, at odds of 1.90, should give you an interest until the end of the game. Bet Now!

Orlando Magic @ Washington Wizards

Washington Wizards LogoThe Magic know that they have underperformed this campaign and their trip to Washington won’t be filled with confidence, even if they are facing a team who aren’t too high in confidence themselves. The Magic hold a 16-38 record, including a road record of 10-20 and they take on a side with a 32-20 record in this campaign. The Wizards hold a 19-8 record in Washington, which is the main reason they will think they can win this game.

The Magic lost their last outing and have a 1-9 record in their last 10 games while the Wizards come into this game on the back of a win and a 3-7 record in their last ten. These are poor records but this match provides an opportunity to turn things around. The Wizards lead with average points and average points allowed. For average points scored, the Wizards lead by 99.9 to 96.1 and for average points allowed, they lead by 97.7 to 96.1.

The Magic have doubts over Luke Ridnour, Aaron Gordon and Andrew Nicholson. The Wizards have minor concerns over Drew Gooden, Bradley Beal and Kevin Seraphin.

This really should be a convincing home win for the Wizards and even with a significant negative handicap, the Wizards should be your tip for this game. Bet Now!
