Saturday NBA Action At Its Finest

NBA Betting Tips 17 January 2015Friday night is always a big night in the NBA and this week was another thrilling example of the NBA at its best. The Nets pulled off a massive shock result, wining 8-102 in Washington against the Wizards while the 76ers also managed to win, defeating the Pelicans 96-81 at home. These results alone meant that Friday night was an exciting one with the underdog having their day.

The Celtics lost at home to the Bulls, slipping 103-119 while the Thunder were able to take care of the Warriors at home, winning by a score of 127-115. The Spurs defeated the Trail Blazers, winning 110-96 while the Jazz had more than enough about them to take care of the Lakers, winning 94-85. The Cavaliers got back to winning ways, defeating the Clippers in Los Angeles by a score of 121-126.

The Magic were gunned down at home by the Grizzlies, the game ending 96-106 and the Pistons picked up another win, this time winning a close one in Indiana, defeating the Pacers by a score of 96-98. The Hawks dealt with Toronto, defeating the Raptors 89-110 in Canada while the Mavericks had more than enough about them to deal with the Nuggets at home, winning by 97-89. The Suns defeated the Timberwolves, the Phoenix team winning at home by 110-99 and the Heat dealt with the Kings, the home side slipping to a 83-95 defeat.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Detroit Pistons

The 76ers hold an 8-31 record coming into this game with a 5-15 record away from home. They come up against the Detroit Pistons who hold a 15-25 record, and this record contains a 5-15 record in Detroit.

Philadelphia 76ers LogoBoth teams won their last game and both teams have a 3-2 record in their last game. This, according to form, could be a close game, but there has been something a lot more impressive about the recent form of the Pistons, and this is shown by the betting odds for this game.

The Pistons will be on a high after Friday night’s dramatic 96-98 win in Indiana but on the same night, the 76ers were seeing out a rather comfortable 96-81 home win against the Pelicans, so they could be fresher for this game.

The Pistons haven’t issued any details about injury concerns for this game but the 76ers have a number of players they are concerned about. Hollis Thompson is expected to be absent while Tony Wroten, Malcolm Thomas and Robert Covington are all being monitored closely.

The Pistons have been winning games, but they have rarely been destroying teams in the process so taking the 76ers at a +13.5 handicap, with odds of 1.90, should be a sensible bet. Bet Now!

Atlanta Hawks @ Chicago Bulls

Atlanta Hawks LogoThe Hawks hold a 32-8 record coming into this game with a 16-5 record away from Atlanta. They face the Chicago Bulls who hold a 27-14 record, and this record contains a 12-9 record in Chicago. The Bulls won their most recent game, and hold a 2-3 record in their last five games but the Hawks have won their last 11 games in a row. This means the Atlanta team are flying high and they certainly won’t be scared about what the Bulls have to offer.

Derrick Rose delivered an excellent performance for the Bulls on Friday night in the win against the Celtics. Rose shot 19 points and offered 10 assists in the 103-119 win in Boston. Also on Friday, the Hawks grabbed their 11th win in a row, but this may have been the most impressive win of their run. An 89-110 win in Toronto certainly caught the eye and if you never believed that this Hawks team mean business, that result should help you to realise that they are in great form.

Both teams have a number of minor injury concerns to worry about. The Hawks are monitoring Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague, DeMarre Carroll, Kyle Korver and Al Horford while the Bulls could be without Mike Dunleavy and will be monitoring Joakim Noah and Doug McDermott.

Given the run of form that they are in, it is hard to go against the Hawks and a handicap of -2.5, at odds of 1.90, is likely to be a sound way to enjoy your Saturday. Bet Now!

Golden State Warriors @ Houston Rockets

The Warriors hold a 31-6 record coming into this game with a 14-5 record away from home. They come up against the Houston Rockets who hold a 28-12 record, and this record contains a 14-6 record in Houston. Both teams have shown good form this season and this could be an exciting match to look out for on Saturday.

Houston Rockets LogoThe Warriors lost their last game and the Rockets won their last match, so there are contrasting fortunes coming into this one. With respect to the five game record, the Warriors hold a 4-1 record, the same record the Rockets hold, so this is a game between two teams that know how to put their opponents away of late.

This is the second of very difficult games on the road for the Warriors and their Friday night was ruined by a 127-115 loss to the Thunder. This is the same Thunder that the Rockets defeated on Thursday night by a score of 112-101. Basketball is never as simple if saying team x beats team y and then team y beats team z, team x should beat team y, but there will be confidence in the Rockets camp this weekend.

Festus Ezelin is supposed to be out for the Warriors while Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala are being monitored closely. The Rockets are monitoring Patrick Beverley on a day to day basis.

This one could go either way but taking the Rockets with a -3 handicap, and odds of 1.90, looks to be a sound bet for Saturday. Bet Now!
