FIBA EuroBasket 2015 Betting TipsWith the first semi-final taking place on Thursday night, the two teams in the Friday semi-final know who awaits them in Sunday’s final. It’s not as if this is likely to impact on the game though, the prize of a place in the final should be all that is needed to ensure that the teams involved in this game are fired up and fully motivated. There is plenty riding on this one and both teams will be looking to continue their strong finishes from Wednesday night.

The games in the EuroBasket semi-finals on 16th September were:

  • Serbia 89 – Czech Republic 75
  • Italy 85 – Lithuania 95

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that Serbia powered away from their opponents but when they did, it was more than enough to separate the two teams and take Servia through to the semi-finals.

Milos Teodosic managed to provide 14 assists over the course of the evening and no matter how accommodating the Serbian defence was, Milos ensured that things headed in the right direction at the right end of the court. Miroslav Raduljica and Zoran Erceg both made their way from the bench to see Serbia through in the end.

Taking the four individual scores from the scheduled quarters of this game indicates how close this match was. Fans were treated to quarters that ended 20-21, 16-16, 23-23 and 20-19 but in Overtime, the Lithuanians managed to find an extra gear that took them away from their Italian opponents. It had been a big night for basketball fans and Lithuania knew that they needed to score in this game because the Italians can rack up the points against any opponent.

Jonas Valanciunas delivered a mighty double-double for Lithuania with 26 points and 15 rebounds. That is the sort of form you need in the knock-out stages of a tournament and he will be hoping that his team-mates will be able to pitch in with a bit more support and assistance in the next games.

The preview for the EuroBasket semi-final on 18th September is as follows:

Serbia v Lithuania

This is the first time that Serbia have reached the semi-finals of the EuroBasket event since 2009, a tournament where they grabbed the silver medal. However, they did reach the semi-finals of the 2014 FIBA World Cup, so there is an element of consistency to how the side are performing in major tournaments.

The fact that Serbia showed a great deal of strength from the bench on Wednesday will likely stand them in good stead for this match-up and they will have a degree of confidence going into this game.

This is the fourth semi-final of the EuroBasket for Lithuania and as silver medal holders; they will be fired up to go one further in this event. There is no denying that the Italy game was the toughest match that the Lithuanians have experienced so far in this tournament but in this game, they face a Serbia side who have been in excellent form so far.

Given the form of Serbia in this tournament to this point, it is easy to see why they are the bookies favourites for this game and the prize of a final place being up for grabs should be enough to see them home.

Taking Serbia with a -7 handicap, and odds of 1.90, is likely to be of benefit this Friday. If you want to get involved with the Over/Under market, you will find that going UNDER 156.5 at odds of 1.90 is a decent bet for the start of the basketball weekend. Bet Now!
